Heather Brown is an experienced professional in project and program management, specializing in substance abuse prevention and suicide intervention. Currently serving as the Senior Manager of Project and Program Management at Mercy Care since February 2014, Heather leads a team to support community-based coalitions and conducts training using the Strategic Prevention Framework Model. As an Independent Contractor since 2011, Heather provides training and consulting in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training and develops community safety strategies. Heather's extensive background includes leadership roles such as Vice President of the Arizona Suicide Prevention Coalition, where facilitation of statewide suicide prevention initiatives took place. Additionally, Heather has held various roles in prevention coordination and program development for organizations including Magellan Health Services and the Arizona Department of Health Services. A graduate of UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Heather combines educational background with extensive practical experience in behavioral health.

Mercy Care is a not-for-profit health plan serving AHCCCS members throughout Arizona. Owned by Dignity Health and Ascension Health, Mercy Care has served Medicaid members since 1985. Mercy Care provides access to health care services for families, children, seniors, and people with physical and developmental/cognitive disabilities. Mercy Care also operates as the Regional Behavioral Health Authority (RBHA) in Maricopa County, which was the first RBHA in Arizona to offer integrated physical and behavioral health services to persons determined to have a serious mental illness.
