Abdul-Jalil Ali has a diverse and extensive work experience. Abdul-Jalil started their career as the Director of Business Case Development and Financial Controller at Marconi in 2000. Abdul-Jalil then moved on to Aircom International, where they served as the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis from 2006 to 2008. Abdul-Jalil worked as an M&A Consultant at Masterlease from 2009 to 2010, leading the due diligence of finance leasing businesses and achieving $750 million in proceeds from 7 deals. Abdul-Jalil then joined Valiant Petroleum plc as the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager/Economist, where they evaluated and determined the economic valuation of oil and gas assets. In 2012, they became the Interim Senior Finance Manager at Gobbleit, supporting and advising business owners on cost and performance improvements. Abdul-Jalil's next role was at Islamic Relief Worldwide, where they served as the Finance and Services Director from 2013 to 2017. In this position, they led the financial management and control of the organization, managing a global team of 256 staff. Most recently, Abdul-Jalil became the Director of Finance at Mercy Corps in 2017.
Abdul-Jalil Ali holds a BSc degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Hertfordshire. Abdul-Jalil also pursued an MBA degree from Aston University. Abdul-Jalil attended King Edward VI Grammar School Aston, Birmingham during their school years.
