Alia Thorpe is a Data/AI Community of Practice Consultant at Mercy Corps, focusing on the implementation of a global community of practice for utilizing data and AI in program teams. Prior experience includes serving as the Digital Peacebuilding Project Manager for the Reducing Online Conflict Community initiative at Mercy Corps and holding various roles such as National Resource Director at YMCA of Greater Seattle, Development Manager at Global Heritage Fund, and Program Associate at Everyday Peace Indicators. Alia's educational background features two Master's degrees from The Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution, as well as in Development Economics and International Development, along with a Bachelor's degree in History and Performance Arts from Augsburg University.
