Glen Winekauf has extensive work experience in various industries. Glen started their career as a Constituent Services Representative for the United States Senate in 1991 and worked in that role until 1994. In 1994, they ran as a candidate for the United States House of Representatives. From 1995 to 1998, they worked as a Sales Representative for KRNA Inc. In 2000, they joined Mercy Iowa City and served as an Administrative Fellow until 2001. Glen then became the Director of Marketing & Community Relations from 2001 to 2002, followed by being the Vice President of Marketing & Support Services from 2002 to 2008. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President of Professional & Support Services at Mercy Iowa City, starting in 2008. In addition to their civilian work, Glen was also a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army, Iowa National Guard, from 1981 until their retirement in 2009.
Glen Winekauf pursued their education at the University of Iowa, starting in 1985 and graduating in 1989. During this period, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science. Later, from 1998 to 2000, Glen continued their academic journey at the University of Iowa, where they completed a Master's degree in Hospital Administration.
