Michelle White is currently a board member at MERCY SHIPS, and was previously the Deputy Chief Medical Officer & Medical Capacity Building Director from January 2012 to January 2017. Mercy Ships is an international charity that runs the world’s largest hospital ship. Michelle was responsible for initiating and designing a new MCB program that aimed to strengthen the entire surgical ecosystem through training programs and target-specific medical donations. As Deputy Chief Medical Officer, they were responsible for the clinical governance, research and medical management of the hospital, which included performance evaluations of visiting international medical staff. Michelle has been integral in maintaining relationships with the Ministry of Health, local Hospital Directors, and funders to provide oversight of daily operations and strategic input to ensure optimization of the surgical platform.
Michelle White has a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Implementation Science and Global Health from King's College London, a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery - MBBS in Medicine from the University of Bristol, and a degree from Millfield School.
