Cliona Twohig is a highly experienced Senior Dietitian and Practice Education Co-ordinator at Mercy University Hospital since September 2021, following a role as a Clinical Dietitian at Bon Secours Health System Ireland. Cliona previously served as Project Manager for the Health Service Executive, leading national projects under the Slaintecare framework, and contributed as a Research Dietitian at University College Cork and Monash University, focusing on health and public policy. Previous clinical experience includes working with various healthcare facilities, providing acute care, outpatient services, and support for patients with chronic conditions. Cliona holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Professions Education from University College Cork, a Bachelor's degree in Dietetics from Monash University, and a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Limerick.
Mercy University Hospital
Mercy University Hospital (MUH) was established by the Mercy Order in 1857 as a 40-bed hospital staffed by four Sisters. Today, the hospital has 300+ beds, employs approximately 1,000 staff and has an annual budget of approximately €90m. MUH offers a wide range of specialities which provide inpatient, day patient and outpatient services along with a 24/7 emergency department and an urgent care centre which is located on St. Mary’s Health Campus.
