Victoria Basnett has a diverse range of work experience in the fields of asset management, project leading, building surveying, and facilities management. Victoria is currently employed at MercyCare as an Asset Management and Project Lead. Prior to this, they worked as a self-employed Building Surveyor specializing in accessible design. Victoria also served as a Facilities and Asset Manager at Programmed, where they worked from September 2017 to May 2022. Before that, they held the position of Assistant Commercial Property Manager Facilities Temp at Burgess Rawson for a brief period in 2016. From December 2012 to January 2016, they worked as a Project Manager in Assets and Property Services at the City of Canning. Earlier in their career, they worked at the Warrington Borough Council as a Building Surveyor, specializing in building projects, asset maintenance, disabilities, and universal access. Their tenure at the council spanned from 2000 to 2012.

Victoria Basnett attended the University of Central Lancashire from 1997 onwards, where they pursued a BSc in Building Surveying. Their studies focused on General Building Surveying, Facilities Management, and Heritage and Conservation. In 1989, they enrolled in Liverpool John Moores University and earned a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Interior Design. Subsequently, in 1992, they also obtained a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Building Studies from the same institution, with a specialization in Building Construction Technology. Additionally, Victoria completed their Level 3 qualification in Assessing Candidates using a range of methods at St Helens College in 2008. In 2000, they underwent training at Liverpool Training, acquiring the National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH). Victoria also pursued a Diploma in Domestic Energy Assessment at URHIP Training in 2007, focusing on becoming a Domestic Energy Assessor. Finally, in 2015, Victoria completed a Diploma of Project Management at the Central Institute of Technology. More recently, in 2016, they pursued property management registration training at REIWA Training.
