Chris Johnston

Chris Johnston is a highly experienced geoscientist with a focus on petroleum geoscience, currently serving as a Senior Geoscience Advisor at Africa Oil Corp., specializing in exploration activities for Equatorial Guinea and South Africa. As a Director at JGS Limited, Chris leads initiatives in the petroleum geoscience field. Previous roles include Senior Geologist and Project Lead at New Age (African Global Energy) Limited, overseeing subsurface evaluations and exploration planning across multiple African regions, and a Senior Geophysicist at Woodside Energy, with experience in regional studies and data-room evaluations. Chris has a strong academic background with an MSc in Petroleum Geology from the University of Aberdeen and a BEng in Industrial Geology from the Camborne School of Mines.
