Patrick Kirby

Patrick Kirby is a seasoned professional in toxicology and genetics, currently serving as the Vice President of Nonclinical at Merida Biosciences since May 2025. Prior experience includes Vice President of Toxicology at Dragonfly Therapeutics, Inc. from September 2019 to May 2025, and Senior Director of Toxicology at Skyhawk Therapeutics from November 2020 to April 2022. Kirby has also held key positions at Sanofi as Senior Principal Scientist in Toxicology, and at Alnylam Pharmaceuticals as Associate Director. Career beginnings include roles as a Toxicologist at Takeda Pharmaceuticals and Staff Scientist at NIEHS. Academic qualifications consist of a PhD in Genetics from La Trobe University, an MBA in Service Management from North Carolina State University, a postdoctoral fellowship focused on nonviral gene therapy at Stanford University, and a BS in Zoology from the University of New Hampshire.
