Carrie Baatje

Carrie Baatje has over 20 years of work experience in talent acquisition and human resources. Carrie is currently the Director of Talent Acquisition at Meridian Credit Union since 2022. Prior to that, they held the same position at Hootsuite in 2022. From 2021 to 2022, they worked as the Lead in Talent Acquisition at Shopify. Before that, they served as the Director of Talent Brand & Digital Recruitment at Manulife from 2017 to 2021, and as a Senior Talent Acquisition Consultant from 2015 to 2017. Carrie also worked as a Program Manager in Human Resources at PointClickCare in 2015. In their earlier career, they held various roles at BlackBerry, including HR Project Manager from 2013 to 2015, Program Manager in Global Talent Acquisition from 2011 to 2013, Program Manager in Campus Programs from 2008 to 2011, and Recruitment Specialist from 2006 to 2008. Carrie started their career as a Recruitment Specialist at Vancity Credit Union from 2004 to 2006, and as a Recruiter at CIBC from 2001 to 2002. Carrie's experience spans various industries, including finance, technology, and logistics.

Carrie Baatje has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western University. Carrie also holds a Post Diploma in Human Resources Management from Seneca Polytechnic and a PMP Certification in Project Management from PMI.
