Hamish Laing

Hamish Laing has a diverse background in the engineering and energy industry. Hamish most recently worked as a Renewable Energy Engineer at Meridian Energy starting in October 2021. Prior to that, they were a Mechanical Engineer at Aurecon from July 2018 to October 2021, specializing in wind and solar development projects.

Between 2016 and 2018, Hamish worked as an Energy Analyst at Ameresco, assisting clients with energy efficiency and generation projects. Hamish also worked as an Energy and Sustainability Analyst at Verdantix from January 2016 to September 2016.

In 2015, Hamish briefly served as a Delegate at the Aotearoa Youth Leadership Institute. Prior to that, they were a Graduate Mechanical Engineer at Aurecon, focusing on downstream oil and gas projects from March 2014 to September 2014.

Hamish then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Sustainable Energy Futures from Imperial College London from 2014 to 2015. Prior to their university education, they attended Newlands College from 2005 to 2009, but no specific degree or field of study is mentioned for this period.
