Mike Smith

Mike Smith has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Mike began their career in 1991 as an Operations Manager at Monroe Shocks, where they stayed until 2000. From 2000 to 2006, they worked as the National Operations Manager at Southward Engineering. In 2006, they joined KiwiRail as an Operations Manager, and they held this position until 2009. Starting in 2010, they worked at UGL, where they held various roles such as Locomotive Build Operations Manager, Service Operations Manager, and Mechanical Components Business Manager. From 2016 to 2017, they served as the National Mechanical Business Manager at UGL. In 2019, they joined Hyundai Rotem as the Rolling Stock Manager and later became the General Manager - Rolling Stock until 2021. Currently, they are working at Meridian Energy as the West Wind Site Manager and is also the Electricity Supply Manager - North Island since 2022. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated a focus on growing businesses, expanding product capabilities, and managing operations efficiently.

Mike Smith obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Production from Massey University. Mike pursued this degree from 2000 to 2005, specializing in Manufacturing Engineering Technology/Technician. Mike also obtained a certification in the same field from Massey University in January 2002.
