Simon McDermott

Simon McDermott has over 30 years of work experience in various roles and industries. Simon started their career in 1999 as a Financial Controller at Aoraki Mount Cook Alpine Village Ltd, where they worked for 10 years. In 2009, they joined Meridian Energy as an IT Business Services Manager and later took on roles such as Head of Commercial and Planning ICT and Leading the Infrastructure and Commercial ICT. Currently, they are working as a Business Support Manager, Finance Transformation at Meridian Energy. In 2018, they also worked as a Business Consultant at Strategize.

Simon McDermott attended the University of Canterbury from 1994 to 1997, where they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (Bcom) degree with a focus on Accountancy and IT. In 2014, they enrolled at the Australian Institute of Business, earning a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree between 2014 and 2016. Currently, Simon is engaged in the CPA Australia Program, working towards obtaining a CPA qualification.
