José Antonio Nuviala has a diverse and extensive work experience in finance and management roles. José Antonio started their career at Electronic Data Systems, where they held various positions in accounting from 1990 to 1995. José Antonio then moved to General Motors, working as a Senior Corporate Auditor from 1995 to 2000.
In 2002, Nuviala joined Delphi, where they served as an Administrative Service Center Manager from 2002 to 2007. José Antonio then became the Finance Manager for Delphi Packard Spain from 2007 to 2008 and later the Country Finance Director for Portugal and Spain from 2008 to 2014.
From 2014 to 2019, Nuviala worked at Aptiv as the Country Finance Director for Southern Europe. During this time, they were responsible for financial coordination, strategy, and accounting for the company's operations in the region, as well as serving as the Aptiv Spain Country Lead and President.
Currently, Nuviala holds the position of Global Head Internal Audit - Global Head Tax and Legal at Merit Automotive Electronics Systems., S.L.U. José Antonio joined the company in 2019 as the Global Head Tax and Legal, and in September 2021, they were promoted to their current role. In their current role, they are responsible for internal audit, tax planning and compliance, legal matters, internal control, and government relations for Merit Automotive globally. Nuviala has achieved numerous accomplishments during their time at Merit Automotive, including VAT certification, tax optimization initiatives, the implementation of pricing agreements and transfer pricing policies, and the development and implementation of finance and internal control policies, among others. José Antonio also serves as the sole administrator for Merit Mexico and Merit Italy.
José Antonio Nuviala holds a Master's degree in Business Taxation from the Colegio de Economistas de Aragón, which they completed from 2021 to 2022. José Antonio also has a Degree in Law from the Universidad de Zaragoza, which they obtained from 1988 to 1993. In addition, José Antonio Nuviala completed a Master's program in Comercial Distribution from the Universidad de Zaragoza from 1991 to 1992, and a Degree in Business Administration from the same university from 1986 to 1991. José Antonio obtained an additional certification in "Ecommerce: Scoping Projects" from LinkedIn in 2019.

Merit Automotive Electronics Systems is a Global supplier of complex mechatronics modules and switches of the automotive industry. Merit has been created back in the 40th in Germany to design and manufacture switches. Much later, Merit has been acquired by Delphi who combined it with another acquisition from Eaton to create a product line named Mechatronics. In 2016 DELPHI sold this product line to Northeast Industries from China. In the beginning of 2017, under the support of the new owner, Merit realigned and started over as an independent company, with headquarters in Barcelona, the research centre in Krakow Poland and with Facilities in Gdansk, Matamoros, Changchun, Suzhou and Jambeiro, following the footprint of the globalization of automakers. Merit Barcelona factory has accumulated over 70 years’ experience of producing switches, from simple switches to nowadays human-interface products, including the development and manufacturing of Steering Switch Module, Steering Column Switch, Window Lifter, Initial Switch, Seat heat Switch for the global automotive industry and after-sale market, with reliable quality, innovative design and cost optimised production.
