Roy Hockett

Roy Hockett is a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in network consulting and infrastructure management. Currently serving as a Senior Project Engineer at Merit Network since January 2016, Roy has also held a Senior Engineer position at IDEM Consulting since 1992. Previous roles include Senior Network Architect at the University of Michigan, where responsibilities involved leading architecture, engineering, and budget planning for data infrastructure. Roy chaired the Committee on Institutional Cooperation OmniPOP Technical Advisory Committee from 2012 to 2014, overseeing technical and financial operations. With a robust background at the University of Michigan in various engineering and management capacities, Roy's expertise spans wireless, security, and data networking. Educational qualifications include a BSES in Applied Mathematics from the University of Michigan and coursework in Electrical Engineering at Michigan Technological University and Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara.
