Dr. Derrick Gay

Dr. Derrick Gay serves as an Adjunct Professor at Teachers College, Columbia University, where instruction focuses on "Reframing Diversity to Drive Belonging in Independent Schools." As an Adjunct Faculty member at Parsons Paris – The New School, Dr. Gay contributes to the academic environment while also fulfilling the role of Board Member at the Merit School of Music. Through Derrick Gay, LLC, Dr. Gay works as a Belonging and Intercultural Strategist, collaborating with various organizations to enhance diversity efforts. Previous roles include Curriculum and Research Advisor at Sesame Workshop and Board Member positions with the National Guild for Community Arts Education, The Caedmon School, and Greens Farms Academy. Dr. Gay holds an MA in Private School Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Doctor of Education degree from the University of Pennsylvania, along with dual degrees in Romance Languages and Opera Performance from Oberlin College.
