Austin Arena has worked in various roles in the engineering and automotive fields since 2011. Austin began their career as an Apprentice Technician at Bill Dodge GMC in 2011. In 2012, they became an Automotive Technician at Carters Auto Service, specializing in American and Japanese makes. From 2016 to 2017, they worked as a Laboratory Assistant at Wentworth Institute of Technology, assisting professors and technicians in teaching students how to safely operate equipment and tools. In 2017, they simultaneously worked as a Quality Engineering Intern at Tesla and a Mechanical Engineer I, Powertrain Development at Terrafugia. Austin is currently a Mechanical Engineer at Merlin Labs.

Austin obtained a High School Diploma from Gorham High School in 2009, an Associate's degree in Automobile/Automotive Mechanics Technology/Technician from Southern Maine Community College in 2013, and a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology in 2018. In addition to their degrees, they have obtained several certifications, including Certified Associate and Certified Professional from Dassault Systèmes in 2015 and 2018 respectively, and A4 Steering and Suspension and A5 Brakes from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) in 2011.
