Paul "Prem" Sobel

Paul "Prem" Sobel has worked in the software engineering and development field since 1994. Paul "Prem" began their career at Philips Semiconductors as a Contract Engineer, where they upgraded a MIPs simulator and wrote a random program generator for the MIPs architecture. In 1999, they became a Contract Programmer at WellMax, where they developed a Microsoft Access-based medical application. From 2000 to 2005, they worked at Obsidian Software as a Staff Engineer, where they fixed bugs and added features to a new QT-based GUI. From 2005 to 2006, they worked at Nevis Networks as a Consulting Engineer, writing C library API functions for a real-time multi-threaded embedded network security event correlation system. Paul "Prem" then moved to LogLogic as a Principal Engineer/Architect, where they proposed new architectural directions and identified existing bad coding practices. In 2007, they began working at ARC International as a Principal Engineer, developing an automated layout algorithm for HW and SW graph views of a design project. From 2009 to 2010, they worked at Intel as a QA SW Tool Engineer, fixing over 40 bugs in the code base, writing thousands of new white code tests, and enhancing the automatic test framework. Lastly, from 2009 to the present, they have been the CTO and Co-Founder at MerlinCryption LLC, where they created the ASBE encryption algorithm, and developed security software with a focus on encryption/decryption products.

Paul "Prem" Sobel received their Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Caltech in 1967, after having earned their Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Pratt Institute in 1966.
