Sami Mohammed is an accomplished researcher in the field of regenerative medicine and diabetes therapies, currently serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the MERLN Institute for Technology-Inspired Regenerative Medicine since March 2018. With experience as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Université libre de Bruxelles and a NWO Rubicon Research Fellow at Joslin Diabetes Center, Sami has focused on projects related to beta-cell replacement and cell transplantation techniques. A PhD candidate at Radboudumc, Sami's doctoral research involved renal electrolyte handling, employing advanced methodologies such as microfluidic systems and CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing. Earlier career stages included research internships in nuclear medicine and pharmacology, as well as a Graduate Assistant role at Asmara College of Health Sciences. Sami holds an MSc in Biomedical Sciences from Radboud University and a BSc in Pharmacy from the University of Asmara.
