Cyndy Carlson, PE, PhD, serves as the Associate Professor and Chair of the Civil Engineering department at Merrimack College since September 2015, overseeing undergraduate programs in civil engineering and construction management. Previous roles include Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering at Merrimack College, Assistant Professor of Environmental Science at New England College, and Research Associate at the University of New Hampshire. Research interests encompass stormwater management, walkability, engineering and public health, and enhancing educational pathways for under-represented groups. Cyndy Carlson also holds a Senior Fellow position in the Environmental Leadership Program's New England Regional Network since 2008. Professional experience includes extensive work as a Water Resources Engineer with CDM Smith and Camp Dresser and McKee, focusing on stormwater and drinking water projects in diverse international settings. Cyndy Carlson earned a PhD in Natural Resources and Environmental Engineering from the University of New Hampshire, an MS in Engineering from Dartmouth College, and a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
