Joel Kuszmaul

Joel Kuszmaul is an accomplished academic and administrator currently serving as Associate Professor and Associate Dean of the School of Science and Engineering at Merrimack College since August 2015. Prior to this role, Joel held the position of Associate Professor of Geology and Geological Engineering at the University of Mississippi from August 1998 to May 2015, where contributions included teaching courses in rock mechanics, engineering geology, and geomechanics analysis, as well as chairing the department. Earlier experience includes a Senior Lecturer role in the Mining Engineering Program at the University of Queensland from January 1995 to July 1998 and an Assistant Professor position at the University of North Dakota from August 1993 to January 1995. Joel's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical/Geological from the University of California, Berkeley, an M.S. in Geo-Engineering from the University of Minnesota, and a B.S. in Geological Engineering from Michigan Technological University.
