Matthew Cohen

Matthew Cohen is an Assistant Professor of Practice at Merrimack College, specializing in political science, with a focus on courses such as Comparative Politics and Political Science Methods. Prior to this role, Matthew served as an adjunct professor at Merrimack College and an instructor at Northeastern University, complementing academic endeavors with practical experience as a consultant at Harvard's Belfer Center. Matthew's extensive background in legislative and budgetary processes was gained through a significant role as Research and Budget Director for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Additionally, Matthew held various positions in political campaigns and party organizations, including campaign manager for Toby Fisher and liaison to the chairman of the Massachusetts Democratic Party. Matthew holds a PhD in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations from Northeastern University and advanced degrees from Harvard University and Brandeis University.
