Shai Kowitt has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. In 1997, Shai worked as a Psychology Laboratory Director, managing psychology laboratories and providing technical support for computer hardware and software failures. From 1999 to 2000, Shai worked as an Assistant Manager in Supplies & Farming while volunteering at a kibbutz.
In 2000, Shai joined George Mason University again, first as a 2nd Level Support Center Specialist, providing support to faculty, staff, and students on computing, network, and voice problems. Shai also acted as a knowledge source for the support staff and developed documentation and training for emerging technologies. Later, Shai became a Support Center Supervisor, overseeing a team of help desk professionals.
In 2002, Shai worked as a contractor for Randstad, and then in the same year, returned to George Mason University as a contractor before becoming a full-time Support Center Supervisor. In this role, Shai supervised a team and provided support to technicians while also writing Standard Operating Procedures.
Starting in 2003, Shai worked at Spectra Logic, initially as a 1st Level Support Technician providing technical support for robotic tape libraries. Shai later became a Hardware Support Specialist, troubleshooting complex issues onsite at customer data centers. Finally, Shai served as a Team Lead, supervising shift employees and resolving escalating situations relating to enterprise-level tape libraries and disk solutions.
From 2007 to 2019, Shai worked at Webroot Inc., starting as a Tier 3 Consumer Technical Support Engineer before progressing to various leadership roles. Shai managed support escalation teams and research teams focused on malware and web analysis. Shai also oversaw department fiscal costs and operations across multiple locations globally.
Most recently, Shai joined Mersive Technologies in 2020 and has held the positions of Manager, Customer Support and Director, Support Operations.
Shai Kowitt obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a concentration in Neuroscience from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. This educational achievement took place from 1992 to 1997.
