Francisco Nogueira de Sousa

Francisco Nogueira de Sousa has extensive experience in the hospitality industry. Francisco began their career in 2006 as Regional Director of PR (IBERIA) for Starwood Hotels & Resorts. In 2008, they moved on to become Director of Operations for both the Sheraton Algarve, a Luxury Collection Resort, and the Sheraton Lisboa Hotel & Spa. In 2009, they worked as Managing Director for Martinhal Resort and General Manager for Hoteis Real Portugal. In 2016, they were appointed Member of the Board as General Manager of Praia d’el Rey Marriott Golf & Beach Resort for the Marriott Portugal Business Council. Francisco was also a Board Member for the Irish Portugal Business Network from 2017. In 2020, they co-founded merytu, a company that connects professionals and companies in a simple, innovative, and efficient way, and also became a Board Member for Tripwix. Francisco is currently the CEO and Founder of BlueShift - Achievers Make the Change, a complete, integrated solution for investors and operators on the hospitality industry.

Francisco Nogueira de Sousa completed a Bachelor in Hotel Management from Escola de Hotelaria e Turismo do Porto between 1993 and 1996. In 2003, they attended Management Centre Europe for Advanced Sales Skills. The following year, they attended the same school for Leading Sales teams. In 2007, they attended INSEAD for Blue Ocean Strategy. In 2008, they attended Starwood Hotels & Resorts for Handling Media & Crisis Management. In 2020, they attended INSEAD for a Workshop on Venture Capital, Business Angels and Startups.
