Ángel Rivera

Deputy Superintendent at Mesquite ISD

After seven years in the U.S. Army, Dr. Rivera served as a teacher and assistant principal with Pasadena ISD before becoming principal at Mike Moses Middle School in Nacogdoches. He then served as principal in Mansfield before relocating to Garland, where he was principal at Lakeview Centennial High School and area director for curriculum, instruction and assessment with Garland ISD. Since joining Mesquite ISD in 2017, Dr. Rivera served in the roles of chief of strategic initiatives and community engagement and assistant superintendent of innovation and leadership prior to taking on his current role of deputy superintendent in 2021.
