Nisha Dhanik

Itinerant Deaf Education Teacher at Mesquite ISD

Nisha Dhanik is an experienced educator in the field of Deaf Education, currently serving as an Itinerant Deaf Education Teacher at Mesquite Independent School District since August 2021. Previously, Nisha worked as a K-2 Deaf Education Teacher at K.B. Polk Center for Academically Talented & Gifted, where responsibilities included writing lesson plans that align with IEP goals and facilitating student self-advocacy. Nisha's earlier experiences include teaching during the Extended School Year at CID-Central Institute for the Deaf and serving as an Internal Producer for the Vagina Monologues, overseeing production logistics and coordinating with partners. Nisha holds a Master of Science in Deaf Education from Washington University School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology-Neuroscience-Philosophy, Linguistics, and Speech & Hearing Sciences from Washington University in St. Louis.
