Matthias Strauss

Matthias Strauss serves as the Deputy Executive Director of the BAU Network and Global Industry Lead at Messe München since January 2009, overseeing major exhibitions including BAU, BAU China, and the Long Night of Architecture. With extensive experience in event management, Strauss has driven significant projects such as the acquisition of Fenestration China and the successful execution of BAU Congress China. Prior roles include Deputy Project Manager for Munich’s 850th birthday celebrations at the City of Munich, where responsibilities included marketing and sponsorship, and positions in event planning and project management for various cultural events. Strauss's educational background includes an M.A. in art history and business management from Freie Universität Berlin, supplemented by studies at Scuola Normale Superiore and Università di Pisa.
