Amy L. Hanson

Amy was a 25-year Macy’s, Inc. veteran who joined the company in 1983. In May 2008, she was elected as senior vice president for property development. In her role, she oversaw a range of corporate-level functions, including store design and construction, real estate, energy services, sustainability, licensed operations, non-merchandise purchasing, and foodservice. Before that, she was vice chairman and director of stores at Minneapolis-based Macy’s North, and led the transition as Macy’s North was consolidated into the Macy’s East division in 2008. Prior to becoming a vice chairman of Macy’s North, Hanson served as president of the FACS Group, the Cincinnati-based Macy’s, Inc., now known as Macy’s Credit and Customer Services. She joined FACS in 1991 as group manager for planning and receivables, before being promoted to senior vice president in 1997 and president of credit services in 2000. She was named the division's president in 2002.
