Doug joined Messer in 1987 after graduating from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in Education. Doug has worked on projects in five of Messer’s 11 regions across Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee throughout his career. He relocated to the Knoxville Region where he has been since 2005.
Doug has provided leadership across a diverse portfolio of complex construction projects in aviation, health care, higher education, federal/military, public and industrial market segments for such clients at McGhee Tyson Airport, Metro Nashville Airport Authority, University of Tennessee Medical Center (UTMC), City of Knoxville, Tennessee Board of Regents, Aisin Automotive Casting Tennessee, and Yamaha Jet Boat Manufacturing. In addition to his role as Operations Vice President, Doug leads Messer’s Supplier Diversity Leadership Team strategy and the Industrial and Federal/Military market segment efforts in the Knoxville.
In the community, Doug recently served on the American Cancer Society’s Leadership Council for the Knoxville Area and is currently supporting the UTMC Foundation, Second Food Harvest and Knox Area Rescue Ministry.
