Mark A. Hill

VP, Lexington Region at Messer

Mark gained experience as a co-op with Messer before becoming a full-time employee in 1987. That same year, he received an A.S. in construction management from Cincinnati State Technical and Community College. Over the past three decades, he gained estimating, project management and executive leadership experience on a variety of projects. Mark’s skills and expertise have been applied to manufacturing , parking garages and large health care and higher education projects such as Pikeville Medical Center, Fleming County Hospital, several University of Kentucky projects (UK Pharmacy, UK Academic Science, UK Student Center), and Berea College Natural Science Building. His comprehensive experience also includes renovation, restoration, complex and design-build projects. As Operations Vice President for the Lexington region, Mark’s leadership and executive counsel is highly sought, particularly during the preconstruction phases for project types listed above. In 2004, he led the renovation of Berea College’s Lincoln Hall: the first LEED-certified building in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Mark is beginning his fifth year on the Bluegrass March of Dimes Board and is a previous two-year chair of the March for Babies Walk Event. He continues to serve on the Eastern Kentucky University Construction Management Advisory council. He is a board member at the Lexington Chamber of Commerce for Minority Business Development where he supports the local M/WBE Contractor Training program. Mark’s commitment and service were recognized in 2014 as the Minority Advocate of the year.

In 2018, Mark joined Commerce Lexington for the “Get it Done-Building for Tomorrow” seminar to discuss strategic partnerships for small businesses.
