Mark Hannam

Mark Hannam has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Mark has held various positions in different companies and has gained expertise in operations, manufacturing, assembly, quality, and continuous improvement.

From 2017 onwards, Mark has been working at Messer Cutting Systems as the Director of Operations. In this role, they lead a team responsible for purchasing, production control, manufacturing, assembly, and shipping of cutting-edge cutting machines. Mark oversees a group of 11 direct reports and 60 indirect reports, ensuring high-quality products are delivered to customers.

Prior to joining Messer Cutting Systems, Mark worked at Fives Giddings & Lewis. Mark held the position of Director of Operations from 2012 to 2017, where they managed various aspects of machine tool production, including purchasing, manufacturing, assembly, shipping, and installation. Mark integrated the Shipping and Receiving departments into the operations team to optimize resource allocation.

Before that, Mark worked at MAG Giddings & Lewis as the Director of Quality from 2010 to 2012. Mark was responsible for overseeing all quality aspects related to procurement and manufacturing, as well as managing warranty costs. Mark successfully reduced warranty spending to less than 1% of COGS.

Mark's work experience also includes a long tenure at Giddings & Lewis, where they worked in multiple roles from 1987 to 2010. Mark served as the Manager of Test Engineering and Training & Documentation, leading teams responsible for commissioning CNC controls, providing customer training, and creating technical manuals. Mark also worked as a Six Sigma Black Belt, completing improvement projects and implementing process changes to achieve significant savings. In addition, they worked as a Research & Development Test Engineer, designing and building test systems, and as a Field Services Engineer.

Mark Hannam holds various qualifications in the field of process improvement and leadership development. Mark completed a 6 Sigma belt program at Caterpillar, where they gained expertise in process improvement techniques. Additionally, they participated in the Leadership Development Program at the Center for Creative Leadership. As part of their educational background, Mark also earned an Associate's degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Milwaukee Area Technical College.
