Karl J. Brummer

Karl J. Brummer is the current President & CEO at Messiah Lifeways. Prior to this, they served as Adjunct Instructor at Harrisburg University from January 2016 to January 2021. Before that, they were with Messiah Lifeways and Messiah College as Adjunct Instructor from February 2011 to November 2015 and January 2009 to February 2014, respectively. Karl has also served as Senior Executive Vice President at Cross Keys Village - The Brethren Home Community from January 2009 to February 2014.

Brummer began their career in Human Resources and has held various positions such as Human Resources Director at BAE Systems from January 2008 to January 2009, Director of Human Resources and Corporate Culture at Arcus from August 2007 to January 2008, Vice President of Human Resources / Senior Vice President at Elizabethtown College - School of Continuing and Professional Studies from June 1999 to June 2007, and Adjunct Professor of Graduate and Undergraduate Business & Communication at Eastern University from January 1999 to December 2020.

Karl J. Brummer has a BS in Human Resource Management from Messiah University, an MBA in Business from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, and a certification from SHRM in SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). Karl also has a certification from LeadingAge in Certified Aging Services Professional (CASP) and a certification from the American Staffing Association in Certified Staffing Professional. In addition, they have a certification from the American Staffing Association in Technical Services Certified (TSC) and a certification from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (UK) in Certificate in Employment Relations, Law and Practice. Finally, they have a certification from SHRM in Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a certification from HRCI in Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) Certification.
