Andrew Hartley

Climate Impacts Scientist at Met Office

Andrew Hartley serves as a Climate Impacts Scientist at the Met Office Hadley Centre, focusing on the effects of climate change on biodiversity and ecosystems since July 2009. Prior to this, Andrew worked as a GIS Research Analyst at Maplecroft, where the primary responsibility involved utilizing GIS to assess risks related to climate change, health, and human rights from August 2008 to July 2009. Earlier experience includes a role as a GIS Analyst at the European Commission's Joint Research Center from 2002 to 2008, contributing to the monitoring of vegetation cover for biodiversity conservation using Earth Observation data. Andrew holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Exeter, an MSc in GIS and Remote Sensing from Cranfield University, and a BSc in Physical Geography from Aberystwyth University.
