Cleo Bigwood

Cleo Bigwood is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in international development, gender, and security, currently serving as a Senior International Development Manager at the Met Office since January 2024. Prior to this role, Bigwood held various positions in the British Army from April 2012 to January 2024, including SO2 Environment & Climate Security and Gender and Child Protection Advisor, and has been deployed to the Democratic Republic of the Congo as part of the UN Mission. Additional expertise includes consulting for the UK's Stabilisation Unit, serving as a Protection & Security Expert for the Norwegian Refugee Council, and conducting climate security research for the UK Ministry of Defence. Bigwood holds a Master of Science in Climate Change and International Development from the University of East Anglia and a Bachelor of Science in International Disaster Engineering and Management from Coventry University.
