Maricel Williams

Maricel Williams is a Climate Scientist currently employed at the Met Office, specializing in International Climate Services Development since January 2024. Previously, Maricel served as a Climate Change Researcher at One Home from November 2021 to April 2023, focusing on accurate communication of climate change impacts to the UK public. Maricel has extensive editing experience as a Science Editor at Cactus Communications from August 2018 to November 2021, enhancing the publication prospects of research manuscripts in Earth and Environmental Sciences. As an Executive Officer at Climate Parliament from February 2017 to August 2018, Maricel coordinated interdisciplinary events on clean energy and climate change. Earlier roles include Assistant Marine Geologist at the British Antarctic Survey, where laboratory work supported climate research, and a student placement as a Marine Researcher/Ecologist at Archipelagos, Institute of Marine Conservation. Maricel holds a PhD in Palaeoclimatology from the University of Bristol and an MESci in Environmental Geoscience from Cardiff University.
