Richard Lawrence

Richard Lawrence is a Principal Fellow in Technology at the Met Office, where expertise in highly scaled technology architecture has been demonstrated since October 2009. Leading the design of an acclaimed supercomputing approach, Richard has overseen numerous software development projects, managing a team of 25 developers while enhancing IT Component Assembly and Software Development capabilities. Previous roles include IT Fellow in Supercomputing, Enterprise IT Architect (HPC), and Technical Lead for software solutions like the National Severe Weather Warning System. Prior experience includes a Research Consultant position at MidlandHR, focusing on ITIL-based Java developments, and a sponsored student role at Thales, contributing to projects involving Delphi and C++ systems. Richard holds an MEng in Software Engineering from Aberystwyth University, earned with first-class honors.
