Derek Pham

Derek Pham is a skilled software engineer with a solid foundation in IT and software development. His career began as an IT intern at the MathScience Innovation Center, where Derek maintained campus infrastructure and contributed to the Metro Richmond STEM Fair's design. After serving as a soccer referee official for nearly a decade, Derek progressed to Amazon Web Services, where significant achievements included reducing search latency and creating a machine learning solution. Derek later worked at CarMax, optimizing data processes and initiating machine learning applications while contributing to cost savings. Currently, Derek holds a position as a Software Engineer at Meta and previously worked as a Software Development Engineer II at Amazon. Derek holds dual degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics from Virginia Commonwealth University.
