Drew Wingard is an accomplished engineer with extensive experience in semiconductor technology and architecture. Currently serving as the Director of SoC Architecture at Meta since March 2021, Drew oversees a team dedicated to creating power and energy-efficient silicon architectures for augmented reality glasses. Previously, Drew held the position of Director of SoC Enablement at Meta, focusing on the importance of foundational technologies in scaling silicon initiatives. Prior to Meta, Drew was the Director of Silicon Methodology at Facebook and co-founded Sonics, Inc., serving as CTO for over two decades, where the company delivered on-chip network solutions and energy processing units for consumer applications, resulting in over 5 billion ICs shipped. Drew's career began at MicroUnity Systems Engineering as a Senior VLSI Designer, and Drew holds a Ph.D. and an MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University as well as a BS in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
