Eiji Hayashi

Eiji Hayashi serves as a Research Scientist Manager at Meta since August 2023, focusing on wearable AI at Reality Labs after a distinguished tenure at Google from April 2016 to March 2023 where roles included Staff Research Engineer and Senior UX Engineer in Project Soli. Eiji has a solid background in Human-AI Interaction and wearable form factors, having led cross-disciplinary teams to develop gesture recognition systems and innovative prototypes. Prior experience includes a Post Doctoral Fellowship at Carnegie Mellon University, a Research Internship at Microsoft, and a Senior Researcher position at Mitsubishi Electric, complemented by extensive educational achievements, including a Ph.D. in Human Computer Interaction from Carnegie Mellon University and dual master's degrees in Information Security and Mechanical Engineering and Robotics.
