Elton Pan

Research Scientist

Elton Pan is a Research Scientist at Meta since June 2025, specializing in foundational models within the Meta Foundational AI Modeling & Codesign team. Prior experience includes roles as a Student Researcher at the University of Cambridge, where optimization of novel C-C bond formation reactions was conducted, and as a Research Engineer at the Institute of High Performance Computing, focusing on catalysis informatics and machine learning. Elton was a Research Intern at Google, contributing to multi-scale representation learning and controllable generation with diffusion models, while also pursuing a PhD at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in ML for materials science, concentrating on generative models and reinforcement learning for materials design. Earlier, a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry was obtained from Imperial College London, complemented by undergraduate research in deep reinforcement learning and experience as a ML Engineer at Ro5 in drug discovery.
