Erik Ferragut

Erik Ferragut is an experienced professional in data science and applied mathematics with a focus on machine learning and its applications in various domains, including health care and cyber security. At Optum, Erik served as Director of Data Science, leading a team to develop and optimize machine learning models for detecting fraud and waste in health care claims. Previously, Erik held roles as Principal Data Scientist, Applied Research Mathematician, and Senior Data Scientist in esteemed organizations such as The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and the National Security Agency. Currently, Erik works as a Research Scientist at Meta. Erik holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Michigan and a B.S. in Mathematics from Ursinus College.
