Felix Binder

Felix Binder is an accomplished researcher in AI safety and cognitive science with extensive experience in both academic and industry settings. Currently serving as an AI Safety Research Scientist at Meta since August 2025, Felix is involved in significant projects focused on AI Safety and Alignment. Previous roles include Visiting Scholar at Stanford University, AI Research Scientist at Cambria Labs, and Graduate Student Researcher at UC San Diego, where responsibilities encompassed creating multimodal video datasets and data management. Additionally, Felix held a position as an Astra Fellow in AI Safety, researching introspection in Large Language Models, and served as a Research Scientist at Scale AI. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Cognitive Science from UC San Diego and dual Bachelor's degrees in Computer Science and Philosophy from Freie Universität Berlin.
