Fernando Alamos

Opto-Mechanical Engineer

Fernando Alamos has a solid background in mechanical and opto-mechanical engineering, with relevant experience from various internships and positions. Notable roles include an intern at EWI, where Fernando developed a calibration procedure for nondestructive evaluation tools, and at Centro para la Innovación y Desarrollo de la Industria, where design work for a three-wheel electric motorcycle prototype was undertaken. Fernando further advanced skills as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Notre Dame, collaborating on multidisciplinary projects, and later excelled as an Opto-Mechanical Engineer at Meta and Baraja, where high-performance sensors for VR/AR and self-driving vehicles were developed. Fernando holds a PhD in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and two degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
