Hamed S. Neshat

Hamed S. Neshat is a seasoned professional in the fields of software engineering and data science, with extensive experience at leading technology companies. Neshat began a career at Microsoft from December 2011 to February 2015, progressing from Software Engineer II to Senior Applied Scientist and Tech Lead, where significant contributions included optimizing performance for Windows Phone applications and developing machine learning models. Neshat continued at Meta from January 2017, initially as Staff Applied Scientist, leading integration of AI into infrastructure, and currently as Senior Manager in Research Data Science, overseeing large teams focused on machine learning and data infrastructure. Additional experience includes a research role at Qatar Foundation, community development with The Apache Software Foundation, and academic positions at Simon Fraser University. Neshat holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from Simon Fraser University, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, and is a PhD candidate in Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of British Columbia.
