Kuang Wei

Kuang Wei is an accomplished Senior Data Scientist at Meta, contributing to the FB Video Ranking team since January 2022. Prior experience includes roles as a Data Scientist and Senior Machine Learning Scientist at Strong Analytics, where Kuang developed edge-device object detection solutions and advanced NLP classifiers. Kuang's academic background features a PhD and Master's degree in Physics from the University of Chicago, where significant research included improving astronomical object classification and co-authoring a publication in MNRAS. Additional experience includes internships at Allstate and undergraduate research at the Complex Systems Lab at UC Santa Barbara, focusing on brain network analysis and tau proteins related to Alzheimer’s disease. Kuang has presented research at multiple conferences and has contributed to STEM education as a Resident Assistant in summer programs.
