Community Operations Escalations Specialist

Michelle L. has extensive experience in various roles focusing on community empowerment and human rights. Notably, as the Distributions Editor for the Berkeley Fiction Review from August 2015 to 2017, Michelle curated stories for publication, thereby expanding the outreach of the journal. In the role of Research Assistant at the Human Rights Center, UC Berkeley School of Law, from April 2017 to 2019, Michelle conducted open source investigations into human rights issues. Michelle has held multiple positions at Meta from November 2018 to May 2021, serving as both an Operational Risk Specialist and a Community Operations Escalations Specialist. Additionally, Michelle gained valuable experience through internships at Yangon Bakehouse and BusinessKind Myanmar, focusing on curriculum development and women's empowerment initiatives. As President of Conscience Community Development and Aid from August 2012 to May 2014, Michelle led a micro-financing organization, coordinating loan distributions to support rural communities in Myanmar. Michelle earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2018.
