Nasim Habibi, PhD, has extensive experience in optical engineering, particularly in the areas of augmented reality/virtual reality optics and depth sensing camera hardware. Nasim began a professional career as a Research Assistant at the Center for Precision Metrology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte from 2013 to December 2017. Following this position, Nasim worked at Apple from March 2017 to May 2021 as an Optical Engineer, specializing in depth sensing camera hardware, and previously as an Optical Engineer Intern in the same field. Currently, Nasim is employed at Meta since June 2021, serving as an Optical Engineer focused on AR/VR optics. Nasim earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Optical Sciences and Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, completing the degree in 2017.
