Natalia Gimelshein

Natalia Gimelshein is a seasoned software engineer currently at Meta since September 2024, specializing in software development and previously served as a Member of Technical Staff at OpenAI from June 2023 to September 2024. Prior to these roles, Natalia held various positions at Meta as an Applied Research Scientist from September 2019 to June 2023, and at NVIDIA as a Senior Parallel Computing Software Engineer from July 2014 to August 2019, focusing on GPU acceleration for deep learning projects. Earlier experience includes a decade as a Computational Scientist at ERC, Inc., working on rarefied gas dynamics and leading team efforts for code development, and as a Graduate Student Researcher at Penn State University, modeling chemical reactions in rarefied flows. Natalia holds a Master’s degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Penn State University, as well as two Master's degrees from Novosibirsk State University in Environmental Science and Chemistry.
