Nicolaas Viljoen

Nicolaas Viljoen is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in technical leadership and software engineering. Currently serving as Technical Lead Director at Meta since January 2020, Nicolaas specializes in AI networks, transport, and systems. Prior experience includes a role as Director of Software Engineering at Netronome from May 2015 to December 2019, where responsibilities encompassed upstream data center products and technologies like eBPF offload and congestion control optimization. Nicolaas has also contributed to DFJ Esprit as an Associate, focusing on deal sourcing and investment research, and has experience in predictive modeling for high-bandwidth networks from a research position at Netronome. An early career internship at Light Blue Optics involved collaborative product development and optimization.
