Oren Shamir is a seasoned Computer Vision Engineer with extensive experience in the autonomous vehicle domain. Currently at Meta since September 2025, Oren previously contributed to Innoviz Technologies from September 2017 to September 2025 as a Computer Vision Researcher and Engineer, focusing on deep neural networks for autonomous vehicle perception systems, including significant contributions to projects deployed in BMW's level-3 stack. Oren also held managerial roles at Innoviz, overseeing R&D and annotation teams. Earlier experience includes a tenure at Intel Corporation as a Computer Vision Algorithm Engineer, where Oren developed algorithms for hand gesture detection, and in various software engineering and managerial positions. Oren began a career in software development with the Israeli Army and holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Cognitive Sciences from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
